Setting a Stop Loss Or Limit Target
By Andy Palmer
Where to set your stop loss or your limit target is always an interesting question. I have heard many ways to work out where to place stop losses or your limit targets. This could be on a trend line, off a moving average or even just outside a range. One important thing to consider is to do something different. Think about how many other people are doing the same tactic as you. After all if there are thousands of people working out the same figures as yourself, what would happen if a big boy in the markets knew where your stop losses were? They would run all of your trades to trigger the stop loss. How frustrating for you to see your stock now moving in the direction you thought it was going to go in the first place! Be careful of stop gunning as it is known and be a little safer when placing your stops. |
