Can you make money trading the markets? I recently went on a weekend training course with a well known trading company and just wanted to write about my experience. First of all I received an e-mail asking if I wanted to learn the secrets in becoming a millionaire trader. Of course I jumped at the chance seeing as it was a free seminar. So asked my girlfriend to join me on the adventure and off we went to Heathrow in London. Not to catch a flight but to a hotel nearby. The seminar was really informative and I actually did learn something from it. We know that the sales pitch at the end was to be expected. However it was quite refreshing not to hear that we would be millionaires in the blink of an eye, if we signed up to the course. After a lot of discussion we decided to both go on the course. The reasons were two fold. One I had lost my life savings after dealing with a firm call WBFI who are run by a Judi Jackson. All I can say is her advice cost me many sleepless nights, tears and a lot of money. The second reason was I had lost the second lot of savings I saved after the first loss. This second time was a boiler room scam by Koffmann Hatherway. Two blokes by the names of Darren Clarke and Lewis Forbes stole from me. Yes I may have been stupid to trust someone over the phone but I did and it’s gone. I believe Karma will punish Darren and Lewis for what they did. So with both of these experiences under my belt, the only person I can really trust is myself and if I lose money trading then it’s my own fault. I am lucky to have a girlfriend that is willing to put the money up for the trading account otherwise I would be quite stuffed. Anyway back to the trading. The course was in their trading room in London over two days. I must admit I learnt so much more than I thought I was going to do. We learnt how spread betting works, the advantages of spread betting over traditional share purchase. One of the key skills that we were taught was how to interpret the charts as we would be trading on technical analysis. It is quite a steep learning curve but we had been offered a free place on the same course if we needed it. I’m sure that you could learn a lot of this stuff from a book but it makes it so much easier to learn in a classroom environment. After all if you don’t understand something in a book you don’t have anyone to ask any questions to! It has only been 4 weeks since I have been on the course and I am still trying to learn new techniques. I haven’t made a successful trade yet, however I do think it is possible to make money doing this. The reason why is I have only attempted 3 trades so far and with the coaching sessions I am learning more every week. In conclusion I would say it was a great weekend seminar with a lot of information. You won’t make a million from it but it could give you the inspiration to continue your learning. Who knows where you could finish! |
