A Rant About Lorry Drivers

Normally I would try to write something informative about something I know about. However on this occassion I would like to share with you all. Maybe some other people feel the same way and by reading this may help with the frustration they feel when they are driving. How annoying are lorry drivers sometimes! I mean today was a fine example. There I was driving along in the outside lane as two lorries were really slow on the inside. As I am just going past the second lorry, the driver decides he wants to be in front of the first one. They indicate, then start pulling into the lane I am in! I am not sure why they indicated. Was it a kind of warning of "I know you are on my outside, so I thought I'd let you know I am about to drive my lorry into you and knock you off the road. You probably will die but at least I've indicated" Ridiculous. Then a few miles further up the road traffic has slowed from the regulation 70mph to just over 50mph. Why is this I thought to myself. As my eyes scanned up the road all became clear. One lorry going at a top speed of 55mph had decided to overtake the lorry in front who was going 54mph. So this 'speed' demon thought "I know what, as I will get to my destination sooo much faster than this other lorry I'll overtake. I'm not bothered that the fact my overtaking will take 5 miles to complete and I will slow 20 other vehicles down. As long as I can put my foot to the floor and use this extra 1mph I have over this other lorry I am happy" What is with these people!!! I'm sure the majority of them are decent, kind people but please. There rant over |
